Saitou Sakura is the current a senior officers in the Fuji Regimental Command for Imperial Guard. She retains and per tradition Commander Officer Position of the Fuji 22nd Regiment. She is the highest ranked female in the Fuji Regiments, she also the most likely canadate to replace Field Marshal Himura Kenshin should he retire soon. Sakura comes from a family that can trace their linage passed the Great Cursade, in fact the Saitou family is one of the Great clan and retains a sizable amount of land on Fuji IV, controling one of the prefectures there. Sakura is the oldest child but not the Heirthe family fortune as such things are done through the Males of the household first. Sakura has five brothers and one sister. The current heir, is Saitou Hajime, a womanizing, Captain in the Fuji System PDF. Hajime is rather bitter as his sister's success and hates having to salute her in public. Sakura is discusted by the lack of ambition of her brother and his lazyness, a some what judgemental view given that Hajime simple didn't tested well enough for the Imperial Guard's Officer Corp dispite his best efforts. he did decide to go into the PDF Office corps rather than being a enlisted man in the Imperial Guard. Sakuras relations with her other Brothers are cool but not as tentioned filled as her eldest brother. They serve largely in the Fuji Regimental Officer Corps, ironicly managing to pass were their elder brother failed. Sakura's youngest Sister,Chiyo, is just 16 but has desided she will enlist in the Imperial Guard as an enlisted personal, rather than joining the Office Corps. Sakura remarks that Chiyo has to learn everything the hard way.
Sakura is an odd Commanding officer for the Imperial Guard, she is very careful with her forces and plans everything to the last detail and the back up plans, and the Backup-backup plans. She never risk more lives than she needs to and considers all opinions before conmiting to a course of actions. She respects mod of her officers and isn't above taking ideas from even the lowest in her forces. Despite her rank Sakura retains a reputation for brawling. Earned generally when she was a young female officer and the fact that her Striking good looks got far more attention than she would have like. The most famous fight was one involved an Ogryn from the Cadian 331th Regiment, who pawed her brests with his massive hand. She hit him and he didn't take kindly to it, the bar that the fight was is was destroyed and Sakura had managed to kill the Ogryn with here bare hands [and the floor]. While the fights were common they couldn't over shadow her clear ability to lead guardsman to victory.
